Weaving Context and Corporate Identity into Architecture
The architectural design resonates with the existing site context while embracing Guro-gu’s dynamic transformation. Drawing inspiration from the client’s hat-making expertise, the design embodies the concepts of weaving and stacking. The weaving concept is further expressed in the façade’s window design, inspired by the fabric fundamental to the client’s hat business. The vertically patterned windows serve as a visual thread, seamlessly stitching together the horizontal elements and completing the narrative of a cohesive architectural identity. While the building’s square form and substantial scale could render it imposing, the thoughtful stacking design fosters a horizontal segmentation that harmonizes with the surrounding urban landscape. This approach not only integrates the structure with adjacent building scales but also facilitates a genuine dialogue between its exterior and interior spaces.
